San Jose del Cabo Local Area Information
The Los Cabos area is made up of the towns of Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo and the 20 mile stretch of highway known as the tourist corridor that joins them.
Los Cabos Beaches
Miles of pristine beaches along with glorious weather have made this area the popular vacation spot that it is. Swimming though should be limited to those areas designated safe for swimming as most areas have strong currents and lack lifeguards.
For Snorkeling and Swimming:
- Playa Bahia Palmilla - beautiful family beach in a protective cove
- Playa Bahia Chileno – another great family beach and also one of the few Los Cabos beaches that has facilities
- Playa Bahia Santa Maria – great for families, spectacular snorkeling especially in the morning
For Surfing and the very Best of Swimmers:
- Playa Costa Azul – Zippers and La Roca Surf breaks – here you will find Zipper’s Restaurant, a convenience store, and services.
- Playa Acapulquito – Old Man’s Beach – a small popular beach with a surf school and restaurant, swimming is sometimes possible when calm but watch out for surfers!
